Graphite Fluoride is a typical molecular crystal, its CAS number is [51311-17-2]. Under normal conditions, the color is cream white or gray. It is non-toxic, non-burning, non-corrosive, has good chemical stability.
Graphite Fluoride is an emerging industrial material and a deep-processing graphite product, because of its unique physical and chemical properties; it is now the major focus of research. It can be widely used in battery-conductive materials, electrode materials, solid lubricants, water-repellent finish thinning, release agent, a nuclear reactor materials etc.
Graphite Fluoride is a material formed by high-temperature reaction of fluorine gas (or Hydrogen Fluoride) with graphite, charcoal, or pyrolytic carbon powder. It is a covalent graphite compound using fluorine atom as the intercalation material. The molecular formula of Graphite Fluoride is (CFx)n, x is a variable value, which is between 0~1.25. There are 3 types of graphite fluoride are known currently: (CF)n, (C2F)n and (C4F)n.
There are two Main types of Graphite Fluoride we can provide (other types contact us):
1) For batteries: Fluorine-to-carbon Ratio is 0.8 (± 20%), is used as a high energy density cathode material in lithium batteries and lithium fluoride batteries of the “BR” type.
2) For lubrication: Fluorine-to-carbon Ratio is 1.1 (± 10%), is used as solid lubricant. |
